What’s the Best Way to get an Easy Piano Tutorial?

space

Finding the best Easy Piano Tutorial is quite a challenge for the average person and the problem is more people would love to play the piano but don’t always have the funding available to pay for a Private Teacher so an affordable piano tuition course which includes video piano lessons is highly desirable.

Separating the the best piano lessons online from the also rans is a difficult thing to do for the inexperienced. You need to be a Pianist already to be able to judge which will give you the best piano lessons right?

This is where I come in.

I‘m an experienced pianist as can be seen in the video in the popup. If you wish to see it again just refresh this page.

I thought it was time someone did something about the demand for beginner piano lessons so I spent a couple of months in the summer of 2009 (the concert season always quietens down for me in the summer) studying all the piano courses available online. I was looking for several different criteria and to my surprise many of the piano courses I looked at were short on quality and content.

I needed to see several different “must haves” if an easy piano tutorial was to pass muster and to my surprise many of the piano courses I looked at fell by the wayside for more then a few of them.

The criteria I considered were:

semis
The Price: This was certainly a consideration but not the most important as all the online courses investigated were certainly cheaper then traditional private lessons.
semis
Video: Any respectable piano lessons course would have to include this and obviously this was an important consideration as the main reason I feel I can recommend online piano courses is the advancement in web video technology.
semis
Audio: When learning how to play piano it’s very important to be able to hear what you should be sounding like. This is why teaching in person has been the only realistic method until now. There had to be plenty of audio examples in the course for it to get past my demands for this criteria.
semis
Child AND Adult Friendly: As probably 80% of new piano beginners are children it was important that any course I recommend should be in simple enough terms so that a child can progress easily and yet I didn’t want the course to be “talking down” to the adult pupils either. The best private teachers know how to do this and so should the best Piano Courses.
semis
Diversity of Styles: Everybody has their own type of favorite music. I felt it imperative that everybody has the same chance of success on the piano lessons course regardless of their personal taste.

The two courses providing the Best Online Piano Lessons were

Both of these piano courses offer fantastic value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate in buying either one, but first a quick summary about each one individually..

Rocket Piano

This course is a very traditional course and I would say it’s probably the best course you can buy for a child to start learning the piano. It starts with very basic instructions and offers  more  like the type of piano lesson you would get from the local piano teacher down the road. Ruth’s personality shines through in the videos and she is a very effective yet nice and relaxed communicator.

Piano For All

Robin likes to go a slightly different route with his teaching. He gets the student to be able to play various chords and play some popular songs before delving into technicalities of more advanced piano playing. I really liked the approach of this course and it will keep adult players more interested and overall seems to come across as a bit more fun.

These courses are the same price so there’s no issues with price.
To be blunt and totally honest if you are a COMPLETE beginner I WOULD BUY BOTH COURSES.

For $80 you would have all the information and tuition
you would need to become a competent pianist.

space
I do think that actually one course complements the other so if it was me I’d get both whilst they’re at this fantastic price. It makes very good sense when you consider Even buying both courses would only cost about the same as 4 individual piano lessons.
space

That’s an amazing bargain when you consider it.
space
If you can really only afford the one course then I would buy the Rocket Piano Course for a complete beginner and Piano For All for an someone who’s made a start or has some musical experience..

space
You’ll do much better though to get BOTH as a beginner.
It’s such a SMALL investment which can give you YEARS of pleasure and fun and possibly even a career for your child – who knows? Combine the two courses with my own “How To Read Music Course” and you KNOW you’re equipped to learn the piano properly and get the results you Deserve!
